Mentorship & Life Skills
Building Futures
At Brittany and Devin’s Angels, we believe that every young person has a unique spark, but navigating the path to adulthood requires a roadmap. Our programs for youth mentorship and life skills are designed to provide that guidance. We serve students from elementary through high school, ensuring they have the emotional support and practical tools necessary to overcome barriers and lead with purpose.
Personalized Mentorship for Every Stage
We understand that a 3rd grader needs different support than a 12th grader. That is why our youth mentorship and life skills initiatives are tailored to the age and specific needs of each “Angel”:
-
Elementary & Middle School
Focusing on confidence-building, social-emotional learning, and academic encouragement.
-
High School
Transitioning toward independence, academic accountability, and setting long-term goals.
-
Adopt a High School Senior
A specialized initiative that provides extra support for seniors as they navigate graduation and the transition to college or trade schools.
Equipping Students with Essential Life Skills
Mentorship is about more than just conversation; it is about preparation. Our curriculum for youth mentorship and life skills includes hands-on training to help young adults thrive in the real world. We cover:
-
Work Experience Training
Preparing youth for their first jobs with resume building and interview practice.
-
Financial Literacy
Understanding the basics of budgeting and personal responsibility.
-
Goal Setting
Teaching students how to break down large dreams into manageable, achievable steps.
Why Mentorship Matters in Lubbock
For over 20 years, our leadership has seen how a single positive role model can change the trajectory of a life. Many of the youth we serve face economic hardships or limited access to resources. By providing a consistent, stable presence through youth mentorship and life skills, we help bridge the gap between where a student is and where they want to be.
Our mentors are more than volunteers; they are advocates who show our students that their circumstances do not define their future. We are committed to creating a stronger Lubbock by empowering one student at a time.
